Joseph David Young, 55, of Hackett, died Wednesday, April 5, 1989 in his home. He was a retired football coach for the Department of Defense Schools in Zweibrucken, Germany, a member of Van Buren First Baptist Church, the American Legion, VFW, an Army vetern of the Korean and Vietnam wars, a Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason and a former football player for the Van Buren High School, Ouachita Baptist University and Connors Junior College.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Sheryl Novosad of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Dustin Davis of West Point, N.Y.; one son, Timothy of Greenwood; two sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Mary Ann Tyler, both of Van Buren; four brothers, William of Bullhead City, Arizona, James of Central, Robert of Fort Smith and Harold of El Paso, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, April 8 in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.
