She was born Oct. 5, 1889 in Augusta County, a daughter of R. Frank and Cornelia Shields Wallace.
She was a graduate of Mary Baldwin Seminary, an honorary member of Augusta County Tuesday Club, having served two terms as president and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and was a former president of the Women of the Church.
