Marvin William Adamson Sr., 73, Ottawa, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at the Via Christi Medical Center-Saint Francis Campus, Wichita.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.

He was born June 23, 1933, at Des Moines, Iowa to Elsie and Ethel (Spicer) Adamson.

He grew up at Creston, Iowa. He previously lived at Des Moines, Iowa, and moved to Ottawa in 1966.

He attended schools at Creston, Iowa.

He served in the United States Army.

He was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed working on automobiles and gardening. He was a good friend.

He worked at construction and helped build the Union County Courthouse, Creston, Iowa. He also worked for Parmalee Plastics, Ottawa, Bendix Mobile Homes, Ottawa, for 10 years; and in the Paint Department at Ottawa Truck (now Kalmar) for 18 years before he retired in 1995.

He married Cora Ann Shimer, Feb. 21, 1957, at Creston. They shared more than 44 years of marriage. She preceded him in death April 6, 2001.

Survivors include daughters, Janet Robertson, and her husband, Richard, Quenemo, and Sandra Lebo and her husband, Robert, Ottawa; sons, Marvin Adamson Jr., Ottawa, and Joe Adamson and his wife, Tanya, Ottawa; a brother, Paul Adamson, and his wife, Gladys, Ottawa; sisters, Opal Tune, Missouri, Ruby Beardsly and her husband, Robert, Warsaw, Mo. and Garnet Farris, Table Rock, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Sharp, and a brother, Clifford Adamson.

Burial with military honors will follow services.

The family will meet with friends at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa, and will go in procession to the cemetery.
