Following a sudden heart attack, John Sparks, 61, dropped dead at his home, two miles Northeast of LaFontaine, Tuesday afternoon. He had been in falling health for a year or more, suffering from heart trouble. Yesterday morning he had driven to the home of his daughter, near LaFontaine, and had just returned to eat lunch when he was stricken in the kitchen at his home. Practically all of his life had been spent on the farm where his death occourred. He was born there in 1871, the son of William and Missouri Sparks. About 40 years ago he was married to Kate Morrow and one son William Kenneth was born to them. The death of the mother occurred about a week after the birth of the child. Three years later. Mr. Sparks was married to Maude White, who survives him. Four childred were born to them, one of whom is deceased. Besides the son William Kenneth, who resides in Marion, other children are; Mrs. Ethel Piper of Marion; Mrs. Sinclair Wilcox of Indianapolis; and Mrs Glen Eubanks of near LaFontaine. Two sister, Mrs. E. E. Sutton of Lafontaine and Mrs. J.H. Morrow of Wabash, and five grandchildren also survive. A little more that five yeras ago Mr. and Mrs. Sparks moved to Marion, where he was employed with highway department. In October they returned to the farm near LaFontaine. Mr. Sparks was a memer of IOOF Lodge and the LaFontaine Christian Church. Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the LaFontiane Christian Church. The Rev. Frank Schottelkorb will officiate. Burial LaFontiane Cemetery.
