s/o William J. Jordan and Mary Ann "Polly" Dyer. In 1868 William and Mary came to Texas Co. making the trip with an ox team and bringing with them the first thimble-skein wagon to enter Texas Co. T.J. Jordan married Jan. 29, 1880 in Texas Co. Mo. to Clarissa Ann Ella Hensley. To this union nine children were born (1)William A.,(2) Verdela Evaline, (3)Loyed Arthur, (4)Eva Estella, (5)Matilda A."Della",(6)Geneva Nevada, (7)Permenia "Media",(8) Matilda Jane, and (9)Lester Morgan. T.J. and Clarissa settled near Hartshorn. During the Civil War they moved to Jefferson and Pettis Co. They return to there home after the War was over. In 1900 they were living in the Current Township, of Texas Co. They moved to Pettis Co.and in 1910 they were in Monticello, AR. They returned to Hartshorn where T.J. operated a general store and sawmill. He became a member of the Freewill Baptist Church at the age of 23. He later became a member of the Methodist Church along with his wife Clarissa, where he served as a Sunday School superintendent. He was a member of the M.W.A. at Summersville. T.J. was killed by his Hereford Bull when it gored him.
