He married Barbara J. Amos on March 4, 1950. She preceded him in death on October 13, 1973. On June 1, 1985, he married Phyllis Joan Wallace. She passed away on July 8, 2006.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert, Jr. (wife: Carol) of Mulberry and Donald (wife: Debbie) of Frankfort; three daughters, Valeria Rogers (Husband: Harry) of Malta, IL, Barbara Impson (Husband: Jim) of Frankfort, and Jacqueline Barker (Husband: Keith) of Romney; three brothers, Fred (wife: Glenda) of Frankfort, Harold (wife: Ethel) of Frankfort, and Richard of Lafayette; and one sister Marjorie Nistler of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, Casey, Jessica, Katherine, Deborah, Joshua, Allison, Jimmie, Chad, Kyle, Adam, Harry, Brad, Elizabeth, Kelly, and Emily, and nine great-grandchildren, Jarrod, Paige, Savannah, Thomas, Alyssa, Cole, Cassandra, Mason, and Gabrielle.
