McDONOUGH – Donald H. Sheldon, Sr., 77, of McDonough passed away at his home on April 1, 2008. He was born in Norwich on February 25, 1931 the son of the late Harvey and Marion (Wright) Sheldon. On November 30, 1951 he married Jane Deforest.

Don was employed by Ford Homes and FBY Construction as General Manager in McDonough for many years. He was a Life Member of the McDonough Fire Department, a charter member of the McDonough Emergency Squad and a past chairman of the McDonough Board of Fire Commissioners. He had served on the McDonough Town Board and also as and assessor for the Town of McDonough. He was a member of the McDonough United Methodist Church. He had also worked for Opportunities for Chenango, Ridge Homes and the City of Norwich as a building inspector. He was a member and past president of the Lake Ludlow Club. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
