DEATH CLAIMS MRS. M. C. MIKKELSEN
After so illness of three weeks with heart trouble Mrs. Anna M. MIkkelsen, wife of M. C. MIkkelsen. died at her home in Cashmere last Saturday. During the last few days she gradually got worse and when the end came it was not unexpected. Her two children Norman and Anna from Osnabrook, North Dakota ware summoned two weeks ago and with the rest of the family were present when she died.
The funeral occurred Tuesday morning horn the Methodist church and was one of the largest attended ever held in Cashmere. Her pastor Rev. M. J. Perdue officiated and the services were beautiful and impressive. Several appropriate selections, favorite pieces of the deceased were rendered by the choir. The interment was made in the Cashmere cemetery.
The deceased's maiden name was Anna Marie Olson and she was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, August 24, 1858. At an early age she was left an orphan and was adopted by a family living at Neemah, Wisconsin. She was joined in marriage January 20, 1880, to M. C. MIkkelsen and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive. They are Norman, Nellie, Anna, Ada and Herman. She also leaves four stepsons all living In North Dakota one of whom H. P. Mikkelsen of Jamestown, was present at the funeral. Mrs. MIkkelsen had been afflicted with heart trouble for several years and three years ago the family moved to Cashmere from Osnabrook, North Dakota hoping the change would benefit her.
Mrs. MIkkelsen's life was one of usefulness and devotion to her family and friends and her death is an irreparable loss to the home circle made desolate by her departure. Always ready and willing to aid the afflicted always concerned for the well-being of her family her neighbors and friends during her short residence her, she made many friends who held her in high esteem. Early in life she embraced the Christian religion and has for most of her lifetime been a consistent church member and worker.
