Fred was born the son of the late Margaret S. Glick Foraker Foraker.Fred attended Salesianum High School and was a member of the Civil Service during World War II. He worked for a time as a blacksmith with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Wilmington and later accepted a position as a welder with the DuPont Company at the Chambers Works site in Deepwater, NJ. He retired from DuPont in 1985 after a long career.
Fred was an avid reader and loved to travel. He was also a longtime member of the Our Lady of Fatima Leisure Club and the Howard Weston Senior Center. In December 2004, he suffered a stroke which caused him to lose the use of his left side. Nevertheless, he still managed to keep his great sense of humor and made the best of every day with laughter and love.
Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores C. Walsh Foraker, in 1997, as well as other family members. He is survived by his son, Michael of Millersburg, PA; daughter and caregiver, Patty Dean and her husband, Eddie, with whom he shared his home; grandchildren, Bryan, Christopher, Nathan, Ashley, Tayler, and Riley; great grandson, Bryan, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Peggy Lewis, Mary Theresa and Kathy Walsh; brother-in-law, William Walsh; and several nieces and nephews.
