Maggie Mae White, 77 of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away in a Tulsa hospital Wednesday, March 25, 2009 with her family at her bedside. She was born May 17, 1931 in Tahlequah to Lattie B. & Gladys Blake (Lovett) Burgess.
She was married to Ray White & they made their home in the Tahlequah area.
She was a homemaker seeing to the needs of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma & also associated with the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, cooking, canning, doing needle work, gardening, being with her grand kids & other family members. She was also an avid collector of rooster figurines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Edward Russell and a brother, Gary F. Lovett & a sister Rachel Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Ray White Sr. of the home. A son, David Russell of Muskogee. One daughter, Sharon Richey & husband M.C. of Okay, Oklahoma. She leaves several siblings to mourn her passing & they are Andrew G. Lovett & wife Tessie of Jacksonville, Florida, Imogene Stratton of Cookson, Oklahoma, Margaret Jackson of Keys, Oklahoma, Norma Kirk of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Mary Kay Burton of Winston, Oregon. She leaves a legacy of four grandchildren & eleven great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. White will be held Saturday March 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Crescent Valley Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Holland Cemetery in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
