Charles P. ?Charlie? Cary, 95, of Pennfield Township, died early Thursday
morning, May 11, 2006 at the Laurels of Bedford. He was born in Leroy
Township on October 11, 1910 the son of Hira T. & Delia (Parmele) Cary. A
life-long farmer, at the age of three, Charlie moved to the current family
homestead which continues today as the ?Cary Dairy Farm?. In l975, he
retired from the daily farm duties, but remained living and helping on the
farm.
Charlie married the former Vida L. Case in Assyria, Michigan on March 12,
1929; she preceded him in death on February 27, 1996. He is survived by 2
sons, Norman K. (Joan) Cary and Albert R. ?Al? (Doris) Cary, both of Battle
Creek; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great
grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Farley.

Charlie attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a former member of the
Bedford Bible Church, the Assyria Gospel Church, Calhoun County Farm Bureau
and the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Charlie and his wife, Vida
wintered in Palmetto, Florida for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing and traveling.

At the request of the family, friends may call after 10:00 a.m., Sunday at
the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received 5:00 ?
8:00 p.m. Funeral services to celebrate Charlie?s life will be held 11:00
a.m., Monday, May 15, 2006 at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Spencer of
Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Hicks
Cemetery. Memorial contributions made to the Gideon?s would be appreciated.
