G. Pierce Jackson, eldest son of George Washington and Eulalia Peacock Jackson, was born at the Jackson home on Walton Street in Baconton on May 25, 1880. He attended the Baconton School and later was a student at Bethel College in Cuthbert.

At an early age Pierce began farming, and accumulated a sizable acreage of farm lands. He was highly energetic and a business "hustler".

In 1900 Pierce was married to Ella McDaniel of Sale City, born December 18, 1882. She served as a beloved Baconton School Principal for several years, some time after the turn of the century, until her death in June, 1916. There were no children.

In 1918, December, Pierce married Willene McDaniel, sister of Ella. He moved from his farm home, a mile east of Baconton and built a home on Walton Street. Here their two daughters, Eloise and Jerry were born.

Pierce continued his farming operations, expanding to include a dairy, poultry and large pecan groves.

His interest in the community was evidenced by his serving as Mayor of the town for many years. He was also a valuable member of the local school board.
