Arthur Henry Adams was born September 10, 1895 at Hamburg, Iowa to Henry T. and Mattie Belle Parish Adams and died June 6, 1983 at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center at Broken Bow, Nebraska at the age of 87.
At an early age Arthur moved with his parents to Nebraska City where he started to school, then at the age of 14, he moved to Custer County near Callaway where he continued his education. He later attended the Kearney Normal College before teaching school in Hamilton County for several years. Arthur then returned to Callaway to work for the Dierks Lumber Company before entering the U. S. Army during World War I.
He was united in marriage to Lillian Grace Johnson June 9, 1918 at Demming, New Mexico. They made their home at Arnold while Arthur was again employed by the Dierks Lumber Company for five years. He then became a rural mail carrier for Route #1 out of Arnold, retiring after 38 years of service in 1965.
They continued to make their home at Arnold until August of 1982, when they moved to Jennie Melham Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
