An Aged and Well-Known Citizen of Paradise Passes Away.
David Conyngham, an old and well-know resident of Paradise, died at his residence at 8 o'clock on Tuesday evening.
Deceased came of good stock, both on the paternal and maternal sides. His father, Redmond Conyngham, was a brother of the late Judge Conyngham, of Wilkesbarre, and grandson of Sir Redmond Conyngham, of Ireland. His mother was the eldest daughter of Judge Jasper Yeates, who in his day stood at the head of the legal profession in the state of Pennsylvania. Mr. Conyngham was born on July 31st, 1811. He was an honest, kind-hearted man, led a very quiet life and was celebrated for nothing more than for his piety and charity. He had not an enemy in the world, he was a friend to all. He was all his life a consistent member of All Saints Episcopal church, Paradise. He was a member of Pequea lodge, I.O.C.F., and F. & A.M., lodge no. 43, of Lancaster, since 1840, also a member of the Lancaster Commandery, No. 15, K.T.
He was an intimate friend of the late Col. Joel L. Lightner, and the news of his death no doubt brought on the fatal illness of Mr. Conyngham. He leaves a wife and seven children.
