A resident of Gorman, Humphreys County, Tennessee, she was the wife of Ryman Burns when she died on January 9, 1947 at Nashville, Tennessee's Saint Thomas Hospital: Lois had been cleaning her stove with gasoline at home when the stove exploded and she died from her burns four days later at the hospital. Burial was in Wyly Cemetery in Waverly.
