We regret to announce the death of Mrs. Mary Hamilton, the beloved wife of Mr. Jonathan Hamilton, which sad event occurred at her residence, in Logan township, on Tuesday [October 25, 1881] morning. Mrs. Hamilton, whose maiden name was McKee, was born in Logan (then Allegheny) township, about the year 1811. In 1834 she married Abram Fleck, by whom she became the mother of one child, Thomas Fleck, of Sinking Valley. A year after this marriage Mr. Fleck died, and about two years thereafter the subject of this notice became the wife of Jonathan Hamilton, with whom, and the family that gathered around them, she lived happily until the hour of her death. Mrs. Hamilton was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church and her last hours were comforted by that confidence which comes to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. In the nearly seventy years of her life she performed well her part, winning the love not only of her own household but also of all who were privileged to know her. We sympathize with the stricken ones, but they sorrow not as those without hope. She is at rest. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon, to proceed to Fairview cemetery.
