Caroline Durrett was the daughter of John Allen and Patsy Hobbs Browne. She was born in probably Cumberland Co. NC and the family moved to Tuscaloosa Co. AL in 1834. She married Joseph Hogg Durrett prior to 1840. She died in Tuscaloosa AL on Oct 25, 1865 and is buried in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The small cemetery is behind the church in east Tuscaloosa on University Street. She is buried on the north side of the cemetery.
