World War I Veteran First Lieutenant Walter Barton, U.S. Army, 96, died in Washington, DC. Walter attended George Washington University (GWU) & in the Fall of 1911 he was initiated by the District of Columbia Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (Fraternity). Brother Barton graduated from GWU in 1914, and joined the Army three years later. He was honorably discharged in JUL 1919.
