Angel Acuna died at the age of 44, after a long battle with stomach cancer. He had retired from the Texas Air National Guard after 20 years, he was stationed with the 149th Squadron. He had worked for several security and law enforcement agencies over the years, in the San Antonio area, where he was a lifelong resident. He served five years with the Methodist Healthcare system, three years with the University Health System. nine years with the St. Mary's University Police Department, and was currently serving as a Police Officer with the Alamo Heights police Department. He also was a certified Firearms Instructor and a member of the International Police Mountain Bike Association and a certified instructor of the Rape Aggression Defense Dept. He also dedicated his time to the local youth bicycle rodeo's at area elementry schools. He was preceded in death by his father, Abel Jose Acuna. He is survived by: His mother, Elba D. Acuna, his wife, Deborah Lynn Acuna, three daughters, Adriana D'Jenedie, Angel Ryan, and Alexis Rose, and one son, Adam Xavier.
