Margaret C. Beard, 103, formerly of Manheim and of Woodcrest Villa, Lancaster, died Sunday March 22, 2009 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late Frank Z. Beard who died in 1986. Born in East Lampeter Twp., she was the daughter of the late William M. and Elizabeth (Bushong) Cosner. Margaret was a homemaker most of her life. She was a graduate of East Lampeter High School and Elizabethtown College, and had taught school for a short time. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Manheim.
Surviving is a son Kenneth L. husband of Wilma (Seaber) Beard of Lancaster; two grandchildren Michael A. Beard of Lancaster, and Joan B. wife of Matthew C. Enoch of Landisville; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service in Erb Mennonite Cemetery, Penn Twp., will be private. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
