On the 1910 District 102, Aquia, Stafford Co., Virginia census, I found Methodist minister, William R Hardesty, 28; wife Nannie G Hardesty, 29 and daughter May R Hardesty, 2/12. William was born in Maryland and Nannie and May in West Virginia. Address not listed but says it was in the "Aquia Magisterial District partly South of Aquia River."

On the 1920 Lee, Shenandoah, Virginia census, I found church clergyman William R Hardesty, 39; Nannie E Hardesty, 39; Mary R Hardesty, 4 and Ruth G Hardesty, 1 1/12. They lived on South Main Street. They were all born in West Virginia, except for William, born in Maryland.
On the 1930 Easton, Talbot Co., Maryland census, I found M E South Preacher, William R Hardesty, 48; wife Nannie G Hardesty, 48; plus daughters: Ruth G Hardesty, 11 and Anne Hardesty, 9. William was Maryland born, Nannie and Ruth in West Virginia and Anne in Virginia. They resided at 110 N. Harreson Street.
I have a copy of his undated obit which mentions no month, year or name of the assumed Maryland newspaper. It reads: Death of Rev. W. Russell Hardesty. Rev. William Russell Hardesty, of Hillsboro, VA., died on Saturday last at Memorial Hospital, Winchester, VA. of blood poisoning, brought on by a slight injury to one of his hands. He was ill less than two weeks. Rev. Mr. Hardesty had a number of relatives and friends in Calvert County and they were much shocked and grieved to learn of his death. He was the husband of Mrs. Nannie Gardner Hardesty, formerly of Ridgeway, W. V., which was Rev. Hardesty's first charge as a pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church South. He began his ministry with that denomination thirty-one years ago. The deceased was a son of the late James R. (sic) Hardesty, of Calvert County, and was aged 54 years. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Megeath, and Misses Ruth and Anne Hardesty; two brothers, Alpheus Hardesty, of Washington, and Harvey Hardesty, of Baltimore, a half sister, Mrs. Charles Hartman, of Baltimore, and a half-brother, James Hardesty, of Huntingtown. Mrs. Joseph F. Hardesty, of Port Republic, is a sister-in law of the deceased. The funeral was held on Monday morning at 11 o'clock at Payne's Chapel, Ridgeway, W. VA.
