Clyde was born October 24, 1929 in Muenster, Texas. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1947. He then attended Gonzaga University in Washington state until being drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951. He met his wife Pauline (Polly), also a Marine, during their service to their country. They were married on June 27, 1953 in Midlothian, Illinois at St. Christopher's Church. They then moved back to Muenster and lived there until just the past few years.
Clyde started in the wholesale beer distribution business in Muenster in 1959, and with a tremendous work ethic and commitment to customer service, his business flourished. He never retired, but finally slowed down due to illness. The business continued to be successful today due to the foundation laid by Clyde fifty years ago. He is and was a member of numerous organizations pertaining to the beer business.
A very generous person, Clyde still found time to be active in his community and church. He served as a volunteer fireman for many years. As a lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the KC's, sang faithfully with the men's choir at Sacred Heart in Muenster and at St. Mark's in Denton later on.
One of Clyde's passions was travelling. His business afforded him and his wife Polly many oppontunities to travel all over the world. He always had interesting stories to tell when he returned. Clyde also loved to fly and owned an airplane that he used for business purposed as well as recreation.
Clyde is survived by his wife Pauline: sons and wives Charles and Vicky, Richard and Mary Kay, Daniel and Jana, Ronnie and Beverly; daughters and spouses Nancie and Mark Lippe, Kathie and Tim Herr, Virginia and Karl Kelson, Julie and Brett Walford, Laurie and David Laurence; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Angie and a granddaughter Maggie.
Clyde will be missed greatly by family and friends.
