John Gawith came to the states from Liverpool England in the spring of 1872 . It is Believed that he came over with Ralph Gawith and his family, no shipping records have been found to prove this.
John settled in or around Wellingtoin Kansas, for that is where his third son was born appox. 1880 they went to Oregon and settled in Elgin Oregon. They had a farm north of town in an area called Crickret Flats.
