John R. Ahlers, 64, 1178 Windsor St. (860 East), died Nov. 22 at 7 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital after a long illness. Born June 1, 1902, Monticello, Iowa, to Oswald W. and Letty R. Ahlers. Married Grace Gowans, May 31, 1930, Tooele. Graduate of South Dakota School of Mines. Employe Minerec Corp.
Survivors: widow; daughters, Ruth Preston, New York City; Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Grundberg, Chicago; sons, Loren J., Richard J., both Salt Lake City; four grandchildren.
Funeral Saturday noon, 260 E. South Temple, where friends call Friday 6-8 p.m., Saturday prior to services. Burial Redwood Memorial Estates. Family suggests contributions to Boys Ranch, Kearns.
