Vera Rose Close was born March 1, 1921 in Galeton, PA. She is the daughter of the late Paul and the late Angeline (DiGiacomo) Germino. She married Benjamin T. Close,Sr. on August 31, 1946 at St.Bibiana's Church, Galeton, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin T. Close, Sr. on 7-19-1986. Vera was a Homemaker who cared for all her loving family. She hosted the daily coffee clutch, "The Golden Girls", at her home. Loved to bake for all occasions, and baked any kind of pastry or cake. She served dinners at the Senior Center, loved being with family, and loved her cats "Rudy", "Little One" and "Pumpkin". She was a communicate at St. Vincent De Paul Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Theresa Hollenbaugh, of Painted Post, NY and two sons, Benjamin Close Jr. and Michael Close. She also has six grandchildren; granddaughters, Kimberly Schoonover, Melody McLean, Tracy Haines, Laura Close, Kelly Bonsignore and one grandson, Paul Close. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Inez Mancuso, brother, Angelo Germino, several brothers in law and sisters in law.
