ORENE CONAWAY MOHR of Houston passed away March 19, 2009 after a long battle of Multiple Sclerosis. Orene was born March 26, 1932 in Westbrook, Texas to Dennis and Lorene (Parker) Conaway. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Abilene where Orene attended Abilene Schools, graduating in 1950. She married Charles Mohr, December 23, 1952 and resided in Houston and numerous U.S. cities. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Tabeel Temple #88, Daughters of the Nile. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 50 years. She is survived by Sister Nona Lee Pliler of San Angelo, Brother Dennis Conaway, several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a viewing for Houston area friends at the Klein Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2009. Graveside services will be held in Abilene, Elmwood Memorial Park 10:00 AM Monday March 23, 2009 with niece Rev. Cherie Jones officiating. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Special Shrine Friends, Carrie and Wayne Beard of Conroe, Lisa and Jerry Gantt of Houston, and Nellie Nay of Katy, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations in loving memory may be sent to Shriners Hospital for children, 6977 Main St., Houston, Texas 77030.
