Leon "Snake" Parnell
Leon 'Snake' Parnell, 59, of Cotter died Thursday, Dec 5, 2002, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
A funeral will be 2PM Sunday at East Side Baptist Church with the Rev Dr. Mike Shy officiating.
Visitation will be from noon-9PM today at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM.
Interment will be at Galatia Cemetery.
He was born to E.J. and Mildred Jones Parnell on Aug 15, 1943, at Salesville.
He graduated from Mountain Home High School.
He and Betty Jo Hayes married on Sep 6, 1964, at Yellville.
He was employed by 'The Baxter Bulletin', Esso, Entergy, Village Realty, and at the time of his deat by W.E.N.K. Engineering contracted to Entergy.
He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church, Harrison Kiwanis Club and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, camping and music.
Mr. Parnell is survived by his wife, Betty Jo, of the home; three sons, Larry Leon Parnell and his wife Charlotte, and their children, Jettie, Drew, and Nichlaus of Harrison, Gary Edward Parnell and his friend, Jan Lippert of St. Petersburg, FL and Micky Leman Parnell and his wife, Susan and their son, Cole, of Fort Lenoard Wood, MO; one daughter, Becky Jean Parnell and her fiance, Doug Ninedick of Merrillville, IN; his mother Mildred Parnell Hansen of Mtn. Home; a sister Mary Rose Garner and her husband, Terry, of Batesville; a brother Jimmy Dale Parnell, of Searcy and many very special nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He ws preceded in death by his father, E.J. Parnell.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
