Marjorie B. Mallatt, 81, Winfield, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at William Newton Hospital in Winfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, south of Winfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today. The family will greet friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Born Jan. 2, 1924, in Belle Plaine, she was the daughter of Samuel Alexander and Olwyn Forrest (Rowlands) Clester. She worked at Binney & Smith in Winfield, in sales and customer service until retirement.
Survivors include her brothers, Robert Clester of Topeka and Sam Clester of Belle Plaine; sisters, Lexie Hamblin of Derby and Barbara Sundquist of Fontana, Calif.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn E. Mallatt; her parents; and a brother, Robert Clester.
Memorials have been established for the William Newton Hospital/Lifeline and the Trinity Lutheran Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.
