Elmer "Neut" F. Nelson, 88, passed away October 11, 2004 in Colorado Springs.

He was born October 25, 1915 in Marquette, Kansas to Carl J. and Gustava (Bjorklund) Nelson. On May 26, 1945 he married Elizabeth Hinshaw in Longmont, CO.

Elmer taught History for South Junior High and Palmer and Mitchell High Schools. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, the El Paso Lodge #13 A.F. & A.M. Denver Consistory A.A.S.R.S.J. Scottish Rite Temple, and the Colorado Retired Teacher's Association.

Elmer received a Bachelor's Degree from Bethany College and he was elected to the Bethany College Athletic Hall of Fame. Elmer received a Master's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth "Bette" Nelson; 2 children, Karl (Sandy) Nelson of Lakewood, Colorado, Kent (Dee) Nelson of Colorado Springs; 5 grandchildren, Bradley, Amy, Kirsten, MacKenna and Derek; 4 great grandchildren, Monique, Nicholas, Keil and Kevin. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and a sister.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2004 at the First Congregational Church 20 E. St. Vrain, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
