1. James Harley Wildes (b. 21 Jan 1875; d. 13 Sep 1968; married 05 Feb 1895 to Martha Vashti Jones). Note: These are the parents of Charles Edward (Charlie) Wildes, author of "Once Upon A Time In Tattnall County, Georgia".

3. Jesse Wildes (married Ida Lynn)
4. Lizzie Wildes (married Lee Cowart)
5. Milton Wildes (married Nora Anderson)
6. Minnie Wildes (b. abt 1889; married Leander Lynn)

William's father, Jesse, was one of the children who escaped the July 22, 1838 Indian attack on the Maximillan Wildes home and family in Ware County. They killed Maximillan, his wife, and 6 of their 10 children. Jesse escaped, along with his brothers Reuben, James, and John. Some sources say 7 of 11 children were massacred.
