Mrs. Mamie Lee Garland, 92, of Stafford died Monday, July 28, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Garland was the widow of Carson H. Garland. They were married in 1911 in Tennessee and moved to Caroline County in 1929. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lois Jones of Stafford and Mrs. Lena Hicks of Fredericksburg; three sons, C.P. Garland and Milton D. Garland, both of Fredericksburg and Claude W. Garland of Sweetwater, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Theresa Bennett of Marietta, Ga., 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester T. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 o'clock at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be DeRay Davis, Tommy Richardson, Ray Dean Haney Jr., Bobby Henderson, Mitchell Powell and Ralph Williams.
