He was born September 29, 1891 in St Paul, MN, to Frank & Emma (Zachrian) Sampson who were emigrants from Sweden.
He also served in WWI.
He later married Alice Alvira Gardner (1871-1956), widow of John Gardner (1846-1919), on February 18, 1927 in St Paul. They never had any children, tho Alice had some by previous marriages.
Henry worked in the school supply storehouse for the Department of Education in St Paul for many years, dying at Fort Snelling Hospital of myocardial failure & hypertension after a month-long stay.
Interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery
Alice lived until 1956. Her grave is not listed on Findagrave but she is buried with John Gardner at Forest Hill Cemetery, in Knapp, Dunn County, Wisconsin.
