Edward J. Dixon, 81, of West Chester, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Chester County Hospital.
Edward was the husband of Alice Layman Dixon, with whom he was married for 59 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis and Bridget Montague Dixon.
Edward served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He retired from Sun Chemical in Philadelphia after 48 years. Upon retirement he was employed by J.E. Kodish & Sons of West Chester.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Daniel Dixon, husband of Kerry; three grandchildren, Ryan Dixon, fiance of Kathy Szlachtianchyn, Colin Dixon and Shannon Dixon, all of West Chester.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 20, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
