Cloice Alice Ayars died at her home at the Beaver City Plaza on November 13, 1985, at the age of 80.
She was born on November 5, 1905, at Hollinger, NE., to Henry and Julia Rosella (Nicholson) Leonard. She was one of the 9 children. She attended school at Hollinger and was baptized as a young girl in the Brethren Church.
She was united in marriage on May 26, 1923, to Joseph Newton Avary at Norton, KS. To this union were born two sons, Lee of Bridgeport and Kenneth of Beaver City, and a daughter, Imogene Williams of Grand Island. Mr. Avary died in May of 1935.
On May 16, 1937, she was united in marriage to Joseph Judson Ayars at Norton, KS. Mr. Ayars died April 24, 1959.
She is survived by her sons: Lee and wife Shirley, Kenneth and his wife Marjorie, and a daughter, Imogene Williams and husband Floyd; a brother, Russell Leonard of Beaver City; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, an infant son, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services were conducted from the Wenburg Funeral Home on November 17 with words of comfort by Pastor Jim Hardy of the First Christian Church. Organist was Mrs. Douglas Garey with Mr. Garey as soloist.
Interment was in the Mount Hope Cemetery with arrangements by the Wenburg Funeral Home. Casketbearers were LaVerne Bates, Rodney Hardin, Thomas Hardin, Henry Leonard, Robert Leonard and Gene Smith.
