Nancy Bass Hoosier is my great-grandmother. It has taken me around 4 years to locate where she was buried. Nancy was first married to William "Bill" Hollie, 2nd to James J Lee, and 3rd to Benny Hoosier. I found her obituary in the archives of the American Press, dated 11 June 1952.

Mrs. Hoosier, 57, Dies at DeQuincy, Services Today

DeQuincy, La.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Hoosier, 57, are to be held at 10 am today from the Knapptown Baptist Church, with Rev. M.M. Melder, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Hoosier died at 9:15am Tuesday at the home of her daughter in DeQuincy.

Burial was to be in the Miller cemetery at Starks under direction of teh Snider funeral home.

Mrs. Hoosier had lived in DeQuincy for the past 26 years. She is survived by her husband, Benny Hoosier, eight daughters, Mrs. F.W. Murphy of Vidor, Texas, Mrs. Helen Tanner of Beaumont Texas, Mrs Lena Hoosier of DeQuincy, Mrs. Rena Grues of Nederland Texas, Mrs Ethel ?? at Southbend Ind., Mrs. Pauline Porter of Galveston, Texas, and Mrs Mable Taylor of Beaumont Texas, and Mrs Myrtle Jefferies of Vidor: Two sons, Robert of Nevada and Willard of Beaumont: one sister, Mrs. Anne Mae Berry of Jasper, two brothers, Arson Bass who is living in South America and Cosan Bass of Oakdale: 27 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren
