Daughter of William Freame (also spelled Frame and Fream) b. 1745 Belfast, N. Ireland - d. 1809 Salem Township, Westmoreland County,PA (near New Alexandria, PA) and Elizabeth Johnston b. 1755 County Tyrone, Northern Ireland - d. June 22, 1842 at the residence of her son-in-law Frederick Augustus Rohrer in Greensburg, PA.. Wife of Alexander Johnston. Her mother's father was James Johnston, an early Ranger on the Frontiers. She and Alexander had 11 children. One of which was William Freame Johnston 1808-1872, the third Governor of Pennsylvania.

Sister of Rebecca Freame 1783-1839, the wife of Captain John C. Williams 1793-1832, and early tavern keeper (Cross Keys Tavern) and later school teacher of Greensburg. They were the parents of Isabella Johnston Williams, lovingly referred to as "Aunt Bell" - Greensburg's most famous 19th century school teacher (buried at St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg).
