Frederick Freeman Hanks was the son of Rodney Hanks and Olive Freeman. He married first, Abigail Page, and second, Eliza Parker. He served as the town clerk of Mansfield for many years.

The Vital Record book from Mansfield names his parents as Rodney and Olive and shows that he was a mechanic.

NOTE: Although the tombstone shows birth in 1803, the Vital Records of Mansfield, CT show 1805.
