On Jul 8, 1933, she married William Lyman Orr in Idaho Falls and this marriage was later solemized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
In earlier years, she worked at Wintergreen's. She also worked with the Good Neighbor Program in Pocatello.
She was a member of the 15th Ward LDS Church and worked in the Primary for 34 years, where she served as teacher, president and a member of the Primary stake board. She has been a teacher for the MIA Gleaners and a teacher in the Sunday school and Relief Society and a visiting teacher. She and her husband served in the Nashville Tennessee Mission from 1976-1979.
She was past president of the PTA and past local president of the Cancer Society. Her hobbies were flowers, gardening, canning and embroidery. She also enjoyed singing, writing, and reading poetry.
Survivors include her husband of Pocatello, three sons, William G. Orr and Michael I. Orr, both of Pocatello; George L. Orr, Stockton, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Carolyn) Cornia, Bremerton, WA, Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Hargraves and Mrs. Robert (Janet) Marshall, both of Pocatello; a foster daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Jimenez, Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Mrs. Everett (Dot) Crook and Mrs. Fred (Elaine) Parker, both of Idaho Falls; 27 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wesley T. Orr, four brothers, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the LDS 15th ward chapel on Lakeview Drive with Patriarch Homer Satterfield officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel. On Friday, friends may call at the 15th ward chapel from noon until service time, and should friends desire, contributaions may be made to the Primary Children's Hospital. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
