Zora Annie Outlaw Evans

Zora Annie Outlaw Evans was born on December 24, 1926, in Ralls, Texas, to Mildred Lorena (Pate) and Nigle Clancy Outlaw. She passed away on August 2, 2016, in Georgetown, Texas.

She grew up in Post, Texas, and retained ties to her beloved home town throughout her life. She graduated from Baylor University where she met Joe William Evans. The two married and eventually moved to La Marque where they raised their 4 children and worked as educators. Zora went first to Bacliff ISD but soon moved to the La Marque district. She taught for many years at Westgate Elementary, moving later to InterCity.

She was active in her community throughout her life and had a strong belief in community service. She was passionate about genealogy and enjoyed helping others track their history. She gave many hours of time to membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the War of 1812 and Daughters of the American Colonists.

Zora was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bill, her son, David Nigle, and her parents.

She is survived by her sister, Alma Louise Boone of San Antonio and her children: Judith Anne Trainor (Jay) of Georgetown, Paul Bryant Evans (Celia) of Alpine, and Mary Elizabeth Outlaw (Marianne) of Temple. She was blessed with one granddaughter, four grandsons, a great grandson and three beautiful great granddaughters.
