Clorinde Clara Rivard was the daughter of Moise Rivard and Agnes Lefrancois. She married Arthur Gagne on Feb 8, 1886 in Island Pond, VT. In 1900 she was living in Gorham, Coos County, NH. Eventually she and her family moved to Willimantic, CT. She is a descendant of Nicholas Rivard, one of the original French settlers of Quebec in the 1640's. Her daughters were Odella 1889, Clara 1892, Josephine 1894, Anna 1895, Eliza 1897, Virginia 1902. When her daughter, Odella, died at a young age in 1918 in the great flu epidemic, Clara cared for her daughters young family of 7 children. When she died she left 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 GG grandchildren.
