Edgar Spulick died on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in North Carolina. He was 49.
Mr. Spulick was born in New Brunswick and lived in Somerset before moving to the Charlotte area 17 years ago.
He began his career at AMF Gastonia Lanes as a counterperson 16 years ago and in 2005 and was named the facility manager. He created a youth bowling program that reached children of all ages. The kids loved him. He was a coach, leader, confidante and, to some, a father figure. In his own words he "loves to see them smile when they realize they can do it!" He leaves a wonderful legacy and impacted so many lives. He also was formerly employed by Mid State Bowling in East Brunswick.
He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald, in 1983.
He is survived by his parents; four brothers; two sisters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. in Somerset. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Friends and family may call 7 p.m.-9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
