Killed by Train as He Sleeps on Track

Web Fletcher, 40 ferryman at Cartney, died at Gassville from injuries received when a train hit him as he slept on the tracks near Catney on Wednesday night of last week. He was found Thursday morning and taken to the hospital where he died at midnight Thursday, having never regained conciousness. His head and right are were badly mashed besides other lacerations.

Web Fletcher, 40 of Cartney, ferryman, died Thursday night at the hospital at Gassville where he was taken Thursday morning after bein found on the railroad tracks near Cartney. His head and arms were badly lacerated with many body wounds. Foul play was feared.

Mountain Home, Aug. 16--Webb Fletcher, 40, Cartney Ferryman, who was struck by a train about 9 a. m. Wednesday as he lay asleep on the track at Cartney, died last midnight at a Gassville hospital.

He never regained consciousness after he was found yesterday morning with his head and right arm mashed and other lacerations.
