Harry Martin Dahl, 90, went to be with his Lord in the early morning of April 30, 2017.

He was born on June 23, 1926 in New York City, New York to Thorbjorn and Marie Dahl.

He married Nancy Kriz on September 12, 1954 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Sadly Nancy passed in 2006.

Harry served in the United States Army during World War II. He attended Hunter College where he achieved a Bachelors Degree in Geology. Harry continued his education at Columbia University where he received his Masters and PhD in Geology. Harry worked as a geologist for the Atomic Energy Commission and then as the Senior Research Geologist for Texaco in Houston, Texas before retiring in 1986 after 30 years of work.

Harry was a man of faith. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown, Texas. He was an Elder at Faith Lutheran, on the Evangelism Board, and a member of the church’s Welcoming Committee, where he was always thrilled to welcome new members.

Harry was a member of many different associations, societies, and clubs including: The American Association of Petroleum Geologist, Geological Society of America, Sun City Ballroom Dance Club, and Zoomers.

Harry enjoyed traveling and cruising all over the world. His favorite trips included ones to Antarctica and Galapagos Islands.
Preceding Harry in death are his Parents Thorbjorn and Marie Dahl, beloved wife Nancy of 51 years, brother, Ted Dahl and sister, Hilde Gilchrist.

Though in his heavenly home, Harry leaves behind a daughter, Linda Bryan and husband Michael; sons: Woody Dahl and Tom Dahl and wife Ramona; granddaughters: Amanda Petersen and husband Ryan, Kimberly Hunter and husband Corey, Autumn Dahl, and Sierra Dahl; grandson; Jack Dahl; great-granddaughters: Addision Petersen, Harper Petersen, Olivia Petersen, Bostyn Hunter, and Blakely Hunter and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown, TX.
