Ora Ethel Skaggs, daughter of the late William and Lucy Byrd Wood, was born near Salem on April 3, 1887. Departed this life at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem on May 19, 1966 at the age of 79 years, one month and 16 days.
She was united in marriage to Ben B. Skaggs at Salem in March 1907 and to this union six children were born.
Her husband preceded her in death in November 1960. She was also preceded in death by here parents, three brothers, six sisters and three granchildren.
She leaves to mourn passing, two sons, Lowell Skaggs of Corning, Akransas, and Thad Skaggs of Winton, California. Four daughters, Mrs. Vera McCarty of South Fort, Missouri, Mrs. Veda Brook of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Marie Hatley of Winton, California and Mrs. Lucille Morris of Salem. A foster son, Dow Skaggs of Kalmath California, one brother, Bob Wood of Salem, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren a host of other relatives and many friends.
