Born at Summit in Emanuel County, May 29, 1914. Mr. Murphy had lived in Savannah for five years. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church.
Surviving him are his father, H. D. Murphy of Summit; two sisters, Miss Mary Murphy and Miss Dolly Murphy of Savannah; two half sisters, Mrs. J. W. Blackburn and Miss Willie Pearl Murphy of Summit; two brothers, Henry Murphy and Mallard Murphy of Savannah; and a half brother, Roy Murphy of Summit.
Mr. Murphy made his home with an uncle, H. M. Quinney.

Jack was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and died in the hospital from pneumonia.
