Donald Russell Turner, Jr., 40, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at his home. He was born in Radford, Va. on August 9, 1968. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Estelle and James M. Hairston, Roanoke, Va.; his father and stepmother, Donald Russell , Sr. and Kathy Turner, Elliston; a brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Tammy Turner , High Point, N.C.; a sister, Amanda Turner, Bristol, Tenn.; maternal grandmother, Gracie Reynolds, Blacksburg; stepgrandmother, Rebecca Hairston, Roanoke; special cousin and friend Cornell Dow ; former wife and stepdaughter, Jennifer and Sidney Drury; a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and other relatives; special friends, Joy Stowers and Lynn Montgomery and his beloved puppy Petie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. P. L. Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Elliston. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
