CRASH FATAL TO YOUNG MAN
WAS ALONE IN CAR
-------------------------
Died at Hospital, from Injuries
-----------------------
A fine young man, Lawrence James (Larry) Heiman, 20 years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Heiman, of near Baileyville, passed away at the Seneca Hospital, last night, from injuries received in a one-car accident, early Sunday morning.

Larry had been working in eastern Iowa, in grain bin construction work. He had come home to be present for the wedding of his brother, Jerald.

Saturday night, Larry and Miss Janice Haug, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alban Haug, Baileyville, had attended a show, and Larry had taken her home. He was driving onto his parents' home and was about three miles north of Baileyville, near home, when he must have fallen asleep. The car struck a bridge banister, and Larry was pinned in the car. His folks are understood to have expected he had stayed some place else for the night, and their first knowledge of the crash was when they came onto the car early in the morning, when they started for church. Larry was pinned in so greatly by the wrecked car, that it took considerable time to free him. He was brought to the hospital here, in very critical condition, and all that could be done for him, could not spare him.

Larry, we understand, was an exceptionally fine and clean young man. He was a graduate of 1954 of the Baileyville High School.

Besides his parents, Larry is survived by his brother, Arthur Heiman, married, Baileyville address, and by two other brothers, Jerald and George; and two sisters, Janice and Jolene, at home.

The Lauer Funeral Home is making arrangements for service, and the plan this noon was that the Rosary would be recited this Monday night, and again Tuesday night, at 8:00, at the funeral home; and it was thought the Mass, at Sacred Heart Church, Baileyville, would be arranged for 8:30, Wednesday morning.
Later: The time is now definite.
