"Alford L. Kinney, 84, a longtime Cashmere and Wenatchee resident died in a local convalescent center Thursday evening.
He was born Feb. 23, 1897, in Montana, Kan., and moved at an early age to Cashmere with his family.
He attended Cashmere schools and on June 21, 1922, married Esther S. Siemon at Ephrata. They made their home in Cashmere until 1942 when they moved to Alaska. He worked in construction there until 1962 when he retired and moved to Wenatchee where he has since made his home.
Mr. Kinney was a member of American Legion Post No. 10, Wenatchee, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a former member of the Wenatchee Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife at home; two sons, Jerrold Kinney, Wenatchee, and Stanley Kinney, Olympia; one brother, Joseph R. Kinney, Marysville; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
