Clarence Alva Hughes, 67, prominent La Blanca, Texas business man died early Wednesday of injuries received late Saturday when struck by a passing automobile on East Harriman Street., in Edinburg, Texas
Officers who investigated the accident arrested Jose Ramirez on charges of operating a vihicle without a drivers license.
Clarence Hughes, a native of Illionis had been a resident of La blanca Community since 1929.
He was employed by the Southern Solvent Company.
He is survived by his widow, Mary Elizabeth Humphries Hughes and six sons, Edward , of Holiday Kansas; Everett , of Kerrville; Alva and Earl of La Blanca; Troy of McAllen, and Hubert, address unreported. Also surviving are Three daughters, Mrs Dee B Sweeten, of Edinburg, Mrs. Preston Fuller of La Blanca, and Mrs. William V. Pearson of Kerrville.
Funeral services will be held at Kerrville, Texas at 4:00 P.M. Friday, Conducted by the pastor of the Christian Church of which he was a member. Burial will follow in the Kerrville Area, at the Japonica Hunt Cemetery, Hunt , Texas.
