Carrie Williams Altman, 93, passed away on Friday July 24, 1998. She was a native and life long resident of Baker County. She was the daughter of the late John and Arie Williams. She is preceded in death by her husband Admiral Dewey Altman. Survivors include her daughters, Phillis Upchurch, Linda Tyre, Mallavene Crawford, Pearlie Taylor, Willie Mae Raulerson and Margaret Therrell all of Glen St. Mary, and Peggy Keves of Macclenny; sons, Albert and Lonzie Altman of Glen St. Mary, Wilbert Altman of White Springs and George Altman of Macon, GA; sister, Beatrice Rhoden of Glen St. Mary and Mamie McCauley of Mandarin; sister-in-law, Mary Williams of Macclenny; forty-five grandchildren and one hundred and eight great and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday July 26, at 2:30 pm in the Primitive Baptist Church of North Prong, with Brother Robert Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in North Prong Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday (Today) starting at 5 P.M. at her residence in Cuyler. Funeral arrangements under the direction of FRASER FUNERAL HOME, 712 S. 6th St., Macclenny.
